Some tips that may be helpful to prevent color discoloration in your rugs are to keep them away fom large windows that have direct sunlight, rotate your rugs every 3-4 months, treat any water spills or pet urine as quickly as possible.

Our Expert color restoration process can renew the look of your rugs. Give us a call if you’re interested in a reliable company handling your Oriental Rugs.

Our Oriental rug experts will inspect your rugs, paying close attention to any repair requirements. They will be looking for wear and tear, visible damage, faded colors and stainsaround the rug.

It’s important to address any issues with your Oriental rug before other damages start occuring.

Serging of your rugs edges is important to protect the integrity of your rug. If the edges of your rug become frayed, the entire foundation of your rug can start falling apart. When this starts, give us a call to have it repaired. Repairing your rug as soon as you spot a issue will keep the repair expenses to a minimum and maintain your beautiful Oriental area rug for many years.

Fringe Repair & Serging

Vacuuming an Oriental rug with a traditional vacuum cleaner is a good thing. Vacuuming prevents dirt on the rug that filters down into the pile where it can accumulate and cause wear and tear. That being said, it’s important to be carful while vacuuming an oriental rug. The vacuum’s brushes can damage the fringes.

For everyday cleaning, use just the plain vacuum nozzle. This is important for the fringes; try not to run an upright vacuum over fringes. The brush rips the fringes and causes rapid and increased wear. Fringe tends to get caught by the rotating brush while you go over them during cleaning.

Serging & Binding

These terms refer to the bound edges of your rug. Machine made rugs usually have a binding tape, which is a faster and cheaper way to finish rug’s edges. In hand made rugs for example wool rugs or oriental rugs, a looping pattern is done with a single thread which is called serging.

What should you do when the edges of the rugs are fraying

One of the most common rug repairs is frayed edges, it can be caused by time and foot traffic. When you see it happening, it’s best to call us to have it inspected and repaired before worse damage occurs. Repairing your rug as soon it’ds noticed will lower the repair expenses and ensure that you enjoy your beautiful rugs for many more years.
